Tommy Daymond, Jr.

Tommy Daymond, Jr.
I am a native of Winter Haven, Florida. I was born on December 5, 1969, the oldest of 3 children to Tommy Sr. and Josephine Daymond. As child I was very fortunate to have had my paternal grandparents, a great-grandmother and great-great grandmother live on the same street as I did. I spent a lot of time with them as a young child and it had a huge impact on me in terms of shaping my character, values and personal outlook on life.
My sister (deceased), brother and I had parents who were and are very loving, but they were also disciplinarians who wanted the best for their children in life. They taught us to have manners, to be respectful of adults, to be the best that we could be and to put God first in our lives. Church was a very important part of our lives. My father was not one who dropped us off at church. He took us to Sunday School and church at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida and we saw him actively involved in church activities. This spiritual legacy has remained a constant in my life, and today, my family continue in that tradition at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida.
I graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1987. Attended Florida A&M University and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Health Care Management.
I am married to the former Mrs. Sonjia Renee Beasley. Together we have 3 children.
I have been employed with Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since 1991. I was the Activities Director and Volunteer Coordinator for Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I also serve as the Assistant Risk Manager for the facility. I was appointed to the board of the Florida Health Care Activity Coordinators Association as its State News-Line Editor. I also serve as Secretary of District X for the Florida Health Care Activity Coordinators Association and have served in the past as its President, Vice-President and Treasurer. I am certified as an Activity Director by the National Certification Council of Activity Professionals.
I am also a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where I am a Deacon-i n-Training, serve on the Pastoral Leadership Team, Inspirational Choir, Bethel Male Chorus, Men’s Ministy, Youth Ministry. I was awarded Activity Professional of the Year by the Florida Health Care Activity Coordinators Association in 2011.
I was also a member of Florida Health Care Association's Florida Leaders Program, Class of 2013.
I have also been blessed to be able to attain my license as a nursing home administrator in the State of Florida. Effective January 1, 2015 I was appointed as Interim Administrator of Miracle Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. My most rewarding moment s are when I see the smile that I can bring on a residents face and satisfaction to their families that their loved ones that they are being taken care of. Making a difference in the life of others is most rewarding for me.
Being promoted to Interim Administrator at Miracle Hill to me means that I have in some way, earned respect in the career field that I presently am involved with. It is a great feeling to know that others take notice of your work and passion for what you do.
In the coming years, I would just like to see Miracle Hill as a standard to be achieved, showing that our facility is one of excellence and quality caring.
