Dear FHCACA Family,

I am writing to you this evening asking that you keep Mary Anne & her family (especially her husband- Sonny) in your prayers, as Mary Anne has crossed over to be with the Angels and her Family in Heaven.

Mary Anne is one of the founding  members of our Association "FHCACA"!

She was a mentor to many Activity Professionals!

We owe her a debit of gratitude for everything she has done for our Profession.

She has worked on the FHCACA District  XlV as President, FHCACA State President as well as various Committee Chairs and on a National level President of NAAP, and was also a teacher for MEPAP courses.  She was a Nurse, Activities Director and Consultant, and a friend …..just to name a few of her contributions to making a difference in the lives of residents!

I know that everyone that has had the honor of knowing Mary Anne will agree that she is loved, respected & admired!

Thank You, for your prayers, support and encouragement to her, her husband, family and her FHCACA family!

Districts Presidents  please pass this message to the members... OUR "FHCACA Family"!

Sincerely,
Cathy Richards, ADC
FHCACA State President

Facebook Post from ChrisstyJo (user name: Christina Josephine)

It is with deep sorrow that I’d like to acknowledge the death of my beloved aunt, Mary Anne Favale. She was a wonderful woman, who had many admirable qualities, especially her tenacious strong-will and thoughtful nature. These traits, along with her compassion for others, helped her achieve success as she began her career as a Licensed Nurse. Even though she had retired from nursing by the time I was born, once a nurse, always a nurse. And as a child, whenever I was sick, I would insist that I wanted my aunt to take care of me. I trusted her knowledge and felt secure and comforted by her. How blessed I was to have her by my side! I grew up living next door to my aunt and uncle, so she was never too far away. In fact, she was always there, from the very beginning.

Picture
From sending me my first piece of mail at less than a month old, to helping me prepare for the adult responsibilities of life. She had such a caring and giving heart. Each holiday she gifted me beautiful outfits and made every Christmas and Easter a grand celebration. It really didn't matter what she bought me; it was always special, because I knew she'd taken the time to think of me. And it wasn’t just material love she provided, I also received the gifts of her time and service. Acts of love like when she helped me complete my first school project or when she planned my best birthday party down to the last detail. Or how she was always present for my important milestones like school plays, communion, and graduations. For more than two decades, we ate family dinner almost every night.

I fondly remember her as a constant in my life, someone I could count on. As I got older, I became more aware of her second career, as an Activity Professional working in long term care. Highly regarded by her colleagues, she was an educator in her field, and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her professional community. For the last 40 years she has been the chief historian for the National Association of Activity Professionals. So, it may not come as a surprise that she was a methodical organizer. In her office, she had big calendars, white boards, and filing cabinets (many, many filing cabinets).

Over the years she imparted her values onto me, and I too, developed a love for organizing. When my husband and I bought our first home, she gave me my own filing cabinet to keep organized. From her, I learned the importance of preparation and planning. In addition to being a professional, she was also a devoted friend and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was many things to many people. To me, she was nothing but generous, caring, and kind. Through her love, in the many ways she showed it, I felt adored and cherished. No words can adequately express how deeply I will miss my aunt. While death ends a life, it does not end a relationship. I will maintain connected to her through the special bond we share. My cherished memories will live on, and I will hold her in my heart forever

THANK YOU Mary Anne
